Citizenship Field

Can I ask visitors about their citizenship status if I need to meet ITAR regulations or have international visitors?

Like adding any visitor field to The Receptionist, adding a Citizenship field is quick and easy! Start with buttons on the left side of your online dashboard. Select 'Existing Buttons' on the right, then click to edit your check-in button. Scroll down to the Visitor Fields section. Click on the right to add a new field and select Citizenship Field.

Once a Citizenship field has been added to the button, you can select the country you aim to ask visitors if they belong to.

This information will be visible in any email, text, or slack notifications that a contact receives, will be logged with their information in your visitor log, and can be displayed on a visitor badge.

We've made it easy to distinguish, at a glance, non-citizens by their badge printout. All non-citizen badges can include your choice of a diagonal bar or a triangle in either corner along the top or bottom of their badge printout. If you are using badges and want to turn this feature on, edit the button in question, scroll down the Badge Printing section, and toggle on the "Citizenship" label attribute as shown below.

At this time, we do not integrate with software or services to be able to reject or flag visitors based on how they respond to visitor fields.
