Please use a laptop or computer for this setup stage before moving on to the iPad.

Create an Apple ID on the web:

  1. Go to appleid.apple.com and click Create Your Apple ID. Do not create or use a Business Apple ID, as they do not allow you to add a shipping address, which is required for app downloads.

A screenshot of appleid.apple.com, which features an Apple logo in the center of the screen surrounded by concentric colored circles.
  2. Follow the onscreen steps. The email address that you provide will be your new Apple ID; we recommend using a shared email instead of a personal one and noting the credentials somewhere your colleagues can refer to. Please keep in mind that we do not have access to your Apple ID and will not be able to help recover it if those credentials are lost.

  3. Enter a phone number that you can always access.

  4. Check the boxes to subscribe to Apple Updates if you'd like, and click Continue.

  5. Follow the onscreen steps to verify your email address and phone number.

  6. IMPORTANT: You'll then see the main account page. To download apps, click Payment Method on the left, then Add Payment Method. Fill in the billing and shipping addresses, then click update and close the window.

  7. You're now ready to launch the App Store on the iPad; search for "The Receptionist" and click GET. Once the download is complete, launch the app and log into your Receptionist account.

If you see a message that you need to sign in to iTunes, more instructions and alternative options can be found on Apple's website here.

The Receptionist for iPad is an application that can only be installed on an iPad from Apple's App Store (no options for Android). If you don't yet have an iPad or run into any issues, please use the chat icon to let us know, and we can walk you through some options.
