If your team prints badges for incoming visitors, you'll need to set up your printer, and this article will help you do just that! It walks through setting up the printer's physical hardware and enabling badge printing on your account broadly. Please note that you do not need the Brother handbook that came with the printer.

Looking for information on how to customize your badge layout? Take a look here.

Aiming to troubleshoot a printer you've already set up? This article will get you started.

Initial Setup

Enabling Printing for Your Account and Button(s):

  1. Visit the Printing page on your account online and click the toggle to "On."

  2. Choose the printer model and the label roll you will be using (sample rolls that come with 820 printers are DK-2251), and then select Save.

  3. Visit Buttons, then select Existing Buttons and edit your relevant Button.

  4. Scroll down to toggle on badge configuration, create your badge layout, and save. (Additional badge configuration guidance can be found here.

Setting up the Hardware:

  1. If you use a Brother QL-820NWB or QL-820NWBc printer, choose whether to connect via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Please note that we recommend a Wi-Fi connection; Bluetooth is notoriously finicky and more difficult to troubleshoot if errors occur.

  2. If you use a QL-710, QL-720, or QL-810 printer, please select the orange chat bubble on the lower right corner to chat with us! Our team can direct you to the relevant setup documentation, as those models have different setup flows based on several other variables.
