Topics Covered During the Session

Contactless Check-In

I want to use Contactless Check-In for scheduled visitors to input their information before they arrive on-site, but I also want to give my unexpected visitors the option to use Contactless Check-In on-site. Since Queued Visits is enabled per button, how can I do this?

If you want to use Contactless Check-In before and when visitors arrive, you can enable Queued Visits for your Check-In buttons. This will require your unexpected visitors who check in Contactlessly to re-visit the iPad to complete their check-in.

If you don't want your unexpected visitors to need to revisit the iPad to complete check-in, we suggest creating two separate buttons—one with Queued Visits turned on, and the other with Queued Visits turned off. We suggest labeling these buttons clearly or making the Queued Visits-enabled button a Secret Button!

Secret Buttons are buttons that only appear when the visitor or an internal employee is provided with the specific Contactless Button link. This Button link will work whether the Button is active or not. Here is how to set it up:

  1. Create or activate a Button.

  2. Turn on Contactless Check-In via the Home Screen page.

  3. Go to the Contactless Link available under the Contactless QR button at the top right of the Home Screen or Button Page:

  4. Once you're at the Contactless Website, right-click on the "Secret" Button and copy the link address.

  5. Paste the link address in a new browser page/tab and bookmark the page.

  6. Go back to your Buttons page and deactivate your button.

Your Button will no longer appear to visitors on the iPad or via the Contactless link, but the link address for this Button will still work!

I don't want the Contactless pop-up to appear on my iPad, but I want to use the Contactless QR code and/or link.

You can still use the Contactless QR code or link even if the feature is turned off. First, turn on Contactless Check-In, then save your QR Code/link, then turn off Contactless Check-In! Since the QR Code scanner will no longer appear on the iPad, you'll want to disable Queue Visits on your Buttons. Considering this, you'll only want to share the QR Code and link with visitors who are on-site.

With Queue Visits disabled, is the visitor badge printed when the visitor finishes their Contactless Check-in? Even when the visitor is not on site or checking in days ahead of their visit?

Yes, if Queued Visits is disabled, any check-in that is completed using that button will immediately check the visitor in and print that badge.

Expediting Check-In

If someone has visited my facility previously, is there a way for them to check in with out entering all of their info again?

Yes! This is accomplished via the Returning Visitors feature. Returning Visitors saves all previously completed Visitor Field answers and Agreements. It will require visitors to repeat expired or updated Agreements and fields that are Always Required.

Hardware

When does my iPad have to be updated to the newest iOS?

We strive to ensure that our application will continue to work iPads with the current and last two iPad iOS versions released by Apple (e.g. if 18 is the most recent version, we support iOS 16, 17, and 18). If your iPad is on an older OS, you may still be able to use the app, but our ability to support you in troubleshooting will be limited, and we encourage you to update your operating system when you can.

How do we know which printers are compatible with the program?

The Receptionist for iPad only supports Brother Printers. We are only compatible with the printers visible on the web portal (the Brother QL-710W, QL-720NW, QL-810W, and QL-820NWB), and recommend using the QL-820NWB for ease of setup.

Branding

How do I add my company logo to my configuration?

You can add your company logo to the Home Screen and Badges! You can also add a different logo to the Button Screen via the "Screen Logo" settings:
